Launch Czech Republic

In the summer of 2010, the Czech Choices Foundation was officially established in Prague. The Foundation is an initiative by several partners, including the national Obesity Prevention Association (STOB). The Czech Foundation is currently preparing its consumer communication approach and actively looking for industry partners.

Choices featured at a global public health conference in Geneva

In July 2010 close to 1,800 researchers, practitioners and decision-makers from nearly 100 countries were convened in Geneva in the World Conference on Health Promotion, one of the most important international events in the field of public health and health promotion. Held every three years, the five-day-conference focused on health, equity and sustainable development.

The Choices Programme was presented in a scientific symposium on the benefits of the nutrition labelling to consumer behaviour chaired by Ellis Vyth from the VU University of Amsterdam. Health scientists Monique Raats and Annet Roodeburg from the University Surrey and VU University, and Mike Rayner from the British Heart Foundation shared their views on the scientific methodology and consumer research regarding nutrient labelling and profiles in Europe.

In addition to the official program, the Choices International Foundation organised an evening event. Around fruit and vegetable cocktails, Monique Raats gave background to the criteria methodology.

Choices presented at Health and Food Days, France

July 19th, 2012

On 16 and 17 June 2010, the 8th edition of the Health and Food Days took place in La Rochelle, France. Choices participated in the event and presented the effectiveness of its programme in a session on approaches to nutritional improvement.
